It’s sad when Hindus were targeted by non Hindus in Kashmir India, World stayed silent.
Before 1984, Kashmir a beautiful Valley were the most prosperous part of India. Kashmiris in India were very secular mind people as Satish Ganjoo has written in his book “The Truth is that secular minded people of Kashmir of their own free will shared the same faith in the principle of Kashmir of their own free will in the principles of secularism and democracy that India had to offer an against the fundamentalist two-nation (Hindu and Muslim) Principle on which Pakistan was founded.”

I went through lot of sleepless nights to question myself who I am? What is my purpose in my life? Why it become an issue when I call myself Hindu upon asking what religion I follow? Do I really dislike non- Hindus?
As a History student I have learned, Hindus been targeted everywhere in the world not only today but even a centuries ago. Why? Are they Coward or they are just too reliant on their God? Hindus been criticized for saluting Sun, Moon, Stars, Earth which are responsible to give life, light to Earth life. The Animism the oldest religion in that faith people has worshipped spirits. Spirits become God. Hinduism, Zoroastrianism and Shinto are very ancient religions of course Judaism, Buddhism, Confucianism and Daoism.Hindus all over the world being called names by calling them slave mentality. In many parts of the world Hindu God and Goddess being portrayed as nude or painted either on thongs, cigarettes, skate board or hamburgers. I do have to admire my Indian Hindus they protested peacefully.

Non- Hindus are Part of India since Indians thrive on Secularism. Many Indian Muslims have made Progress and made a name for themselves not as Muslim but as Indians. So I have also learned to respect all religions. My confusion come when Danish Paper created a Cartoon, Our Muslims brethren all over the world retaliated with violence world wide. I do think Free Speech should be balanced without hurting any religion sentiments. Why this rule does not apply to Hindus?

If we look at Indian History books and the knowledge of our modern youth who firm believe in secular political system are also ignorant about the massacre of Hindus a centuries ago. The massacre and Slaughter of Hindus has been going on since the raids of Ghazani and Gori Till today. Our Indian whether it’s BJP or Congress they want our youth to be ignorant so we can have peaceful society. Demolished of Babari Mosque labeled Hindus as intolerant But when Thousands of temples was destroyed in India why world was not notified? Mahmud Ghazani a son of Slave Turk attacked Somnath Mandir many times, destroyed many Hindus idols with his own hand killed Hindus with extreme brutalities “The Army Spilt so much blood that the water of that river was so full and that stream so abundantly stained with gore, that it could not be used for purification and was forbidden to drinkers” (History)

Before Islam, most Rajput Kings fought battles without involving their families and common people. War of Sparta should remind when Greek was bullied by Iran, women and common people were left behind. Does that mean Hindus are coward?
When Hindus were massacred in Pakistan, even in Kashmir part of India. Hindus didn’t retaliate and demanded from their own government to Protect Hindu is Kashmir? Why? Have we lost our voice?

Well, religion should not be mixed with Politics and Politicians’ are not wise men. Then who will be defenders of Hindus? Who can save Hinduism? Why Hinduism should not be saved? Why People are ashamed to be called themselves Hindus? If Christians can take special pride to be Christians. Muslims can Proud to be Muslims then why Hindus can’t be proud to be Hindus?

In the end I will say religion is for personal guidance. Religion should not be the cause of distribution of lands. I repeat once again Hinduism, Zoroastrian and Shinto are very ancient religions as well as Judaism, Buddhism, Confucianism and Daoism. We all can live peacefully together under one roof under one umbrella without playing Superiority match for sake of our own selfish reasons. General Public wants peace.
